To view the astronomical event named Super Blue Moon Total Lunar Eclipse, Society for Promotion of Science & Technology in India (SPSTI) conducted an event at Karan Stadium, Karnal and Rose Garden, Chandigarh on 31st Jan, 2018 from 5:30 pm onwards. To enjoy this rare celestial view, more than 200 people accumulated at Karan Stadium, Karnal and stared at the sky for hours waiting for the moon to rise from the cloudy sky.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sh. Dharam Vir, Former Chief Secretary, Haryana & President, SPSTI, Mr. Aashish & Mr. Ranbir, PhD Scholars from IISER Mohali, were present at Karnal with special Telescope to enable the people view this event.<\/span> Dr. Aaditya Dahiya, Deputy Commissioner, Karnal were invited chief guest & joined the event at around 7:00 pm and & interacted with scholars from IISER about the importance of this complete celestial event.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Anuj Goel, Manager, Mobile Science Laboratory, Mr. Mahi Paul, Coordinator, MSL, along with other staff of MSL made arrangements at Karan Stadium, Karnal with cooperation & of Sh. Sarabjit Singh Sibia, District Child Welfare Officer, Karnal.<\/span> Dr. Kanwar Sain, Director, Mata Prakash Kaur Institute, Karnal, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Secretary Red Cross Society, Karnal, Dr. Susheel Kumar, District Science Specialist, Sh. Rakesh Munjal, District Maths Specialist, Ms. Anju Mahajan, Science Teacher, Ms. Deepa Bhargava, Memeber, SPSTI & media were present at the moment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A number of students from Govt. School, Karnal, Coaches & athletes from District Sports Department, staffs from District child welfare office and nearby people were also present to grace the event.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

All present enjoyed this event firstly by understanding the concept of Eclipses with help of videos on projector & then with the help of telescope, binoculars & naked eyes when the Bloody Moon finally started moving out of eclipse from about 8:40 pm onwards while overcoming the effects of clouds.<\/span><\/p>\n

While at Rose Garden, Chandigarh, Prof. Keya Dharamvir, General Secretary, SPSTI asking with scholars from IISER Mohali conducted the similar event in which more than 400 people participated and watched this rate celestial event.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
